Intro to the HAH QuaranClean Challenge

The Stay-At-Home Order started officially in Illinois last night, and I’m already seeing posts from people going stir-crazy. There are lots of things you can be doing during this time, but it’s hard to be motivated to do them, isn’t it? Wasting time is so easy.
(I know because I did pretty much nothing yesterday.)

First of all, we need to re-frame this extra time we have right now as something other than a pain in the you-know-what…

This is a gift we should be careful not to waste!

How many times in the last year have you wished you had more time for one project or another? This is your time. Let’s make the most of it!

What if you were working together with others who also made a decision not to waste all of this extra time we are being given? With daily motivation and encouragement, this challenge will make getting your home more clean and organized easier than ever!

Why will it be easier? Well, not only are these jobs being broken up into small pieces, but with other people commenting on and discussing them, we are able to connect with each other… which we all need right now!

That’s why I’m inviting you to join our QuaranClean Challenge!

Every day I’ll post a QuaranClean Challenge for the day and we will work together to get these things done! My goal is to choose things that will take 20 minutes or less each day. Have other people in your house? Have them do these things too. You’ll ALL enjoy a cleaner, less cluttered home when this is over!

Whether we are sorting clothes or cleaning out cabinets or cleaning all the ceiling fans in the house… we’ll feel more accomplished if we all work on it together!

It’s not a real challenge without a prize though, right? Of course your REAL prize will be a cleaner more organized house when it’s time to get back to real life. But for each day that you comment on our Facebook post letting us know what you did that day, you’ll be entered into a drawing for 3 hours of post-quarantine cleaning from Hire A Housewife!

The more days you participate, the more times you are entered to win!

Here’s the pre-challenge prep:

  • Make sure you have garbage bags or boxes somewhere out of the way where you can put things you plan to donate. (I have the perfect corner in my garage.)

  • Write this down somewhere: In a comment on our Facebook post, on your own Facebook page, on a piece of paper, or even your house whiteboard…

    “I’ve Decided to come out of quarantine with a more organized house than when I started.”

  • If you are reading this and it is not day 0 or 1 or even day 5 anymore, that’s okay! Just start where we are. If you want to go back and do earlier days’ challenges, that’s fine too… but jump in with us on the day we’re on!
